This point-to-point ultramarathon covers 100km or 50km from Kakunodate in Semboku City to Takanosu in Kitaakita City, crossing green, forested mountain terrain in Akita Prefecture. Runners tackle remote mountain-pass sections of the route while local spectators cheer them on along the way.
