Course
Point-to-point course. The marathon starts in the southern beachside area and finishes next to the Broadwater at Broadwater Parklands, Marine Parade, Southport. Runners head south to the Miami turn point, then north to Runaway Bay before finishing; about 29km of the course is beachside. There are 16 water and refreshment stations.

The ASICS Gold Coast Marathon is held each July at Southport on the Gold Coast, on a flat point-to-point course beside the surf beaches and the Broadwater. The weekend programme includes the marathon, half marathon, 10km, 5km and a 2km junior dash, with 16 aid stations on the marathon course.
