Single seven-mile trail race starting and finishing at 2110 Fisher Creek Road, Sylva. The course weaves through spruce forest along the spine of the Plott Balsam Mountains on rocky dirt roads and singletrack, summiting BlackRock at the halfway point before returning.

The Assault on BlackRock is a seven-mile trail race in the Plott Balsam Mountains above Sylva, North Carolina. Runners climb to the 5,810-foot summit of BlackRock at the halfway point on rocky dirt roads and singletrack, with the final push to the summit ridge the steepest part of the course.
