A paved-road course through old-growth redwoods, following a natural creek. It winds gently uphill in places but is mostly flat and fast. Start and finish are at the Dyerville Bridge Overlook near Weott.

The Avenue of the Giants Marathon is held each spring in Humboldt Redwoods State Park in northern California, one of the few road races staged beneath old-growth coast redwoods. Marathon, half marathon and 10K distances are offered on a certified, Boston-qualifying course.
