Badwater Cape Fear

Course

Out-and-back starting and finishing at Old Baldy Lighthouse on Bald Head Island. The first 12 miles cover island roads and maritime forest trail, then the route runs the beach between Cape Fear and Fort Fisher. Three aid stations are passed six times (50km) or ten times (51.4 mile).

The Badwater Cape Fear ultra, now past its 11th running, takes place on Bald Head Island, North Carolina, with 50K and 51-mile distance options. The course begins with a twelve-mile warm-up on the island's car-free roads and maritime forest trails, followed by miles along the wild, secluded beach between Cape Fear and Fort Fisher.
