The Bromo Marathon crosses the volcanic "Sea of Sand" caldera beneath Mount Bromo in East Java's Tengger Semeru National Park. The marathon course climbs through volcanic ash plains and highland terrain around one of Indonesia's most iconic active volcanoes.
