Run on the wide, well-marked trails of Proud Lake State Recreation Area, Commerce Township, Michigan. The Carpe Diem half marathon and 10K are run in daylight; the Carpe Noctem pair start before sunset and finish under the stars, and both can be combined as a double. The trails are described as beginner-friendly with enough to keep them interesting.
