Course
The 50K is an out-and-back of roughly 33 miles starting at Manor in Cunningham Falls State Park, climbing Bob's Hill and following the blue-blazed Catoctin Trail south to a turnaround at High Knob. The trail is rocky and demanding throughout, with several stream crossings and almost continuous tree cover. The Half Cat covers the same ground in reverse from High Knob to Manor. Fields are capped at 200 and 130.

Runners follow the blue-blazed Catoctin National Recreation Trail through Cunningham Falls State Park, with roughly 5,500 feet of combined climbing over rocky, technical singletrack. Stream crossings and overlooks at White Rocks and Black Rock break up the wooded terrain on this out-and-back course starting at the Manor.
