Course
A cross country style 5K starting and finishing behind the Carterville Community Center. The surface is mostly grass with sections of gravel and paved path. Each mile is marked in paint and a lead vehicle guides the field. The race is run in the evening with a 7:30pm start.

Join us for the first Sundown Showdown. Race start and finish behind the Carterville Community Center. This event resembles a high school-style cross country meet, using standard scoring and a 5K course. This is a team event, with 3-5 runners per team. (3 scoring runners per team) If you don't have a team or enough people to make an entire team, we will help you on race day to put a team together. You can run the race solo, if you prefer. You can expect mostly grass with a little gravel and paved path in the mix.
