Run every July 24 as part of Utah's Pioneer Day, following the historic pioneer route down Emigration Canyon and into the Salt Lake Valley, finishing along the Days of '47 parade route through the city streets. Marathon, half, 10K, 5K, 1K and a marathon relay, all on sealed road.

Run each year on Pioneer Day, the Deseret News Marathon has drawn runners to Salt Lake City for more than 50 years. The point-to-point course descends from the mouth of Emigration Canyon into downtown, with marathon, half marathon, 10K, and 5K options.
