Course
An out-and-back marathon on asphalt starting on the Lungomare Mibelli at Marina di Campo and finishing in the Piazza del Comune. It climbs through Sant'Ilario and San Piero in the opening kilometres, then follows the Costa del Sole through Cavoli, Seccheto, Fetovaia and Pomonte to turn at Chiessi. Continuous climbs and descents, and eleven aid stations.

The Maratona dell'Isola d'Elba is a spring road race on the Tuscan island of Elba, with a marathon, half marathon and 10 km all starting and finishing at Marina di Campo. The marathon follows the Costa del Sole above the sea, climbing and descending almost throughout.
