Course

The 15 km Mountain Race starts and finishes at Harrismith Primary School in the eastern Free State, climbing Platberg on mountain terrain with substantial ascent and descent. Landmarks include Bloekombos at 2 km and the Zig-Zag, both with intermediate cut-offs. Water points are placed every 3 km and seconding is not permitted.

The Harrismith Mountain Race climbs into the hills above the Free State town of Harrismith, on the edge of the Maloti-Drakensberg range. Runners choose between a 10km mini trail run, a 15km mountain race, or the tougher 30km trail run, all on mountain terrain around the town.
