Course

An out-and-back on park trails inside Hanging Rock State Park, starting and finishing at the upper lake parking area. The 11-mile route reaches five summits including Moore's Knob, Cooks Wall and Hanging Rock, passing Wolf Rock and House Rock; a 5-mile option covers part of it. Two rest stops carry fluids and light snacks.

The Friends of Sauratown Mountains sponsors High 5 at Hanging Rock, now past its 6th running, to raise funds supporting Hanging Rock State Park. The strenuous hike or run tests participants across significant elevation change and varied trail conditions.
