Course
A completely flat, fully paved and traffic-free course through the Bienwald forest, measured to IAAF standards. The marathon starts at 10.00 at the Bienwaldhalle and finishes in the Bienwaldstadion, with the course closing at 15.00. Aid stations sit roughly every 5km, offering electrolyte drink, tea, water and fruit. The field is capped at 2,500.

The Bienwald-Marathon takes its name from the Bienwald, a large forest in the Palatinate near the French border, and is one of the region's long-running spring classics. Marathon and half marathon distances share the course.
