A USATF-certified out-and-back along the James Island Connector, starting and finishing on James Island near Folly Rd. The road is closed to traffic and has no exit ramps, so the route simply climbs the span over the Ashley River and returns, with views across to historic downtown Charleston. Sealed road throughout.

The James Island Connector Run closes the James Island Connector, the elevated causeway linking James Island to the Charleston peninsula, to traffic for a 5K and 8K each fall. Runners get sweeping marsh and harbor views not normally accessible on foot.
