Course
Starts at the Mt Holdsworth DOC campsite in Tararua Forest Park and finishes at Holdsworth Lodge 500 m up the road. The 24 km is run in both directions between Jumbo (1,405 m) and Holdsworth (1,470 m), climbing steeply to exposed tops above the tree line before descending past huts and down the valley; the anti-clockwise route starts flat and fast into a very steep technical climb. A 12 km Hooper Loop stays mainly in the bush on graded tracks.
