Course
A point to point 3.1 miles, mostly downhill on paved roads. It starts at La Jolla Shores Drive and Horizon Way and finishes at 1100 Coast Boulevard by La Jolla Cove, following North Torrey Pines Road, Prospect Avenue and Coast Boulevard. Two water stations carry water, electrolytes and portable toilets.

The La Jolla Shores 5K runs alongside the La Jolla Half Marathon on the same May weekend in San Diego. The point to point course drops from La Jolla Shores Drive down to the coast at La Jolla Cove, making it a fast morning race. A 10K is also held over the weekend.
