Morat-Fribourg is one of Switzerland's oldest road races, run over 17.17 kilometres between the medieval lakeside town of Murten and Fribourg. The distance and route echo the legend of a runner who carried news of a Swiss victory over Burgundy in 1476, a story often compared to the original Marathon.
