A six-mile out-and-back that drops into the New River Gorge and back out. Starting on the south rim on Fayette Station Road, runners descend Burma and Ames Heights roads about 800 feet, cross the New River at the bottom, then climb 800 feet to the far rim, with a steepest pitch around 20%.
