Course
Grassy ski trails over rolling hills at Lake Elmo Park Reserve, with steep inclines and descents on loose dirt. The six-hour shuffle uses a 3.3-mile large loop and a 1.2-mile small loop on the yellow Prairie trail, both returning to the aid station and bag drop. The trail is lit for the 5K and 10K and for the last 90 minutes of the six-hour, but every runner needs their own headlamp.

About
The Night Owl Races are an excellent way to take the next step in trail running. The Six Hour Shuffle and Six Hour Team Shuffle is a good introduction to ultra running. Long enough to get past the marathon distance, but not too long. The Namesake Night Owl 5K and 10K are great introductions to night time trail running.
Save Night Owl 5k, 10k and the 6 hour shuffle to your season and RunCalendar reminds you the morning entries open and before they close. Free on iPhone, no account needed.
