Extremely flat out-and-back starting and finishing at Pawleys Island Nature Park, heading south on Myrtle Avenue along Pawleys Island Creek. The 5K turns in the Bird's Nest area; the 8K continues down Springs Avenue past ocean views to a turnaround at the far south beach access. No water stop on the 5K; one at the 8K turnaround.

The Pawleys Island Turtle Strut 5K/8K Run/Walk is held in memory of former Police Chief Guy Osborne. Participants start at Pawleys Island Nature Park, with the 5K turning around in the Bird’s Nest area and the 8K offering ocean views before returning to the finish.
