Course
Starts at 06:30 in the ancient city of Petra and heads out into open desert on a mix of gravel road, paved road and sand. The marathon includes a 16 km out-and-back section, with the turnaround 8 km out. There is very little shade, and water stations along the route let runners soak neck covers for cooling.
