Starts and finishes at the National Sailing Academy on Portland and follows the South West Coast Path around the island. The marathon runs two loops of Portland; the half marathon and 10K cover single loop sections. The route is unmarked — runners navigate from a supplied GPX file — and the terrain is exposed coastal trail rather than flat and fast.
