A one-way climb through Chimney Rock State Park, starting from the car park by the former Best View Motel and finishing near the Chimney Rock itself, roughly 900 feet higher. Run on mountain trails, with snacks and refreshments at the finish.

About

This 5K climbs almost 900 feet from the Best View Motel in Chimney Rock Village to the base of Chimney Rock State Park, finishing with panoramic views over Hickory Nut Gorge and Lake Lure. It closes the Lake Lure Olympiad weekend and is the only day each year the park allows competitive racing on its roads.
