A point-to-point course on the Rakiura Track, starting from Horseshoe Bay and finishing at Oban on Stewart Island. The route follows Lee Bay Road onto coastal track, crosses beach sections and climbs over a forested ridge with views out across the water.

The Rakiura Challenge Trail Run returns to Rakiura National Park, Stewart Island on 3 October 2026. The 32km course has approximately 950m of ascent as it takes runners along the Rakiura Track - one of the most varied and diverse trails in New Zealand on the southern-most Great Walk.
