Point-to-point course from private land on the banks of the Rakahuri (Ashley) River to South New Brighton beside the estuary, about 80-82km. Terrain is mixed: stop banks, single track, forest trails and hard-packed sand, crossing rivers, lagoons and beaches through Canterbury farmland. Entered solo or as a two-person or three-person relay.
