Course
Point-to-point through all five boroughs: up the Verrazzano-Narrows Bridge from Staten Island, the long straight of Fourth Avenue through Brooklyn, a brief pass through Queens, the silent climb of the Queensboro Bridge onto First Avenue in Manhattan, a mile in the Bronx, then down Fifth Avenue and into Central Park to finish. Rolling rather than flat — the bridges are the hills.

About
The New York City Marathon is the largest marathon on earth — more than 50,000 runners crossing five bridges and five boroughs, from the Verrazzano to Central Park, carried the whole way by roughly two million spectators. Entry is by lottery, charity or qualifying time, and the First Avenue roar at mile 16 is one of the loudest moments in sport.

A confirmed date shows its day; a provisional one shows only its month, because we won't claim a day we don't have. This page is rebuilt every night from the RunCalendar catalogue.
