Course

All three courses start and finish at Karlsplatz in Heidelberg's old town and run mostly on uneven forest tracks and trails over three summits, including the 850-step Himmelsleiter staircase up to the Königstuhl. Distances are the 20km Base-Trail, the 30km Half-Trail and the 45km Heart Core Trail with 2,019m of climbing. Course closes at 16:30.

The Trail Marathon Heidelberg offers an extreme trail running challenge through the picturesque landscapes of Heidelberg. Runners navigate 45 kilometers of challenging woodland trails and paths, conquering 2,019 meters of elevation and three mountain peaks. The race's highlight is the iconic Himmelsleiter, an 850-step natural sandstone staircase leading to Königstuhl, making it one of the most demanding and scenic trail marathons in Germany.
