About
One of Japan's largest citizen marathons, the Tsukuba Marathon has run since 1981 through Tsukuba Science City in Ibaraki Prefecture, with Mt. Tsukuba visible along the mostly flat route. Around 15,000 runners contest the marathon and 10km each November, drawn by the fast course and a roughly 10-metre elevation range that suits personal-best attempts.
