Course
An out-and-back on the Tunnel Hill State Trail, a converted railroad bed running over 50 miles from Harrisburg to Karnak. Runners start at Vienna City Park, head south to the Wetlands Center turnaround, then north before returning to the finish; 100-milers repeat the loop. The surface is smooth crushed limestone on a dirt base at a gentle 2% grade, passing bridges and the trail's 600-foot tunnel, with staffed aid stations throughout.

Tunnel Hill 100 follows the crushed-limestone Tunnel Hill State Trail through southern Illinois, passing through a former railroad tunnel that gives the race its name. The flat rail-trail course hosts 100-mile, 100K, 50-mile, and marathon distances each November.
