The course follows the sealed Marine Parade Coastal Pathway at Mount Maunganui, starting at the Cenotaph, with each distance using its own turnaround point. The 12 km is two laps of the 6 km course. Aid stations and medical support are placed along the route, and the pathway suits wheelchairs and prams.
