Half marathon loop from Whangārei taking in harbour and coastal views, the Town Basin Sculpture Garden and crossings of both the Te Matau A Pohe Bridge and the Kōtuitui Whitinga footbridge. Drink stations sit roughly every 3 km with entertainment along the route. The 8.9 km and 4.4 km run/walk options follow the sealed Hātea Loop.

The NorthCloud Whangārei Half Marathon includes the half marathon plus 8.9km and 4.4km run/walk options. The half marathon takes in coastal views, the Town Basin Sculpture Garden, Te Matau A Pohe Bridge and Kowhiti Foot Bridge, with drink stations every 3km and entertainment along the course. The shorter options follow the Hātea Loop past bush tracks and the Hātea River.
