Course
The race starts at the Douglas County East/West Trailhead at Rocky Heights Middle School and follows the E/W Trail into the HRCA Backcountry Wilderness Area, connecting on to the Wildcat Mountain trails. These are trail races over rolling hills with open views, not road races. Kids run 0.25, 0.62, 1 or 2 miles by age.

The Wildcat Mountain Trail Races showcase some of the most scenic terrain in the HRCA Backcountry Wilderness Area, giving runners a true taste of the rolling hills, open views, and natural beauty surrounding Wildcat Mountain. Each fall, participants take on two distances—a 10-mile and a 10K—designed to highlight the area's unique, beautiful trails.
