Course

Road courses starting and finishing at the Silent Wings Museum on the north side of Lubbock. The half marathon runs out through the Lubbock Business Park, past the tree-lined Lubbock Country Club and back through open countryside west of the airport; shorter distances use the same roads. The terrain is flat throughout, with sponsored water stops on course.

The Willie McCool Memorial Half Marathon honors Lubbock native and NASA astronaut Willie McCool, who died aboard Space Shuttle Columbia in 2003. Runners choose between a half marathon, 10K, and 5K through Lubbock, Texas.
