Each distance is a single loop from the staging area at Great Meadow Park, Briar Chapel, Chapel Hill. Courses open with 0.4 mile of downhill pavement, then run on dirt double track and rock and root strewn singletrack with a few road crossings. Aid stations every one to two miles.

The Zen Squirrel Trail Run, now past its 6th running, was Roadless Races' first event. It offers 2 mile, 5 mile and 10 mile distances on courses mixing smooth dirt trails with rocky, root-strewn singletrack and hill climbs, finishing with food, music and a kids race.
