Rolling loop course starting and finishing at Franklin Park, following the Emerald Necklace park system along the Riverway, Jamaicaway and Arborway, past Arnold Arboretum, Jamaica Pond, Willow Pond and Olmsted Park. Paved park roads and parkways, with a three-hour time allowance from the last starter.

Organized by the B.A.A., the race draws about 9,000 runners through Boston's Olmsted-designed Emerald Necklace parks, passing Arnold Arboretum and Jamaica Pond. Many participants run as part of Team Dana-Farber, raising funds for cancer research, and results count toward the B.A.A. Distance Medley series.
