Course
A 38-mile loop from Maiden Newton linking the ancient hillforts of West Dorset, with around 1,300 m of climb. Roughly 80% runs on old turf and tracks that can be uneven, muddy or hard-baked, with a small amount of quiet road. The route climbs to Eggardon Hill, on to Abbotsbury Castle at 17.5 miles, along the ridge with sea views past the Hardy Monument and Maiden Castle. Six cake stops on course.
