Course
All five distances set off from a marshalling area at the Dumaresq Dam picnic area outside Armidale, at around 1,000 m elevation in the New England high country, before splitting onto their own routes. The 16 km, 28 km and 50 km climb Mt Duval and return by a longer way round. Distances offered are 3 km, 8 km, 16 km, 28 km and 50 km.

The Duval Dam Buster offers five trail distances from 3K to a 50K ultra through the forested slopes of Mt Duval, near Dumaresq Dam outside Armidale. Organised by Armidale Athletics Club, the course climbs a peak known to traditional owners as Gattamburrumbee across national parks and private land.
