Course
A one-way road marathon down the Highway 12 corridor between Boulder and Escalante, starting near the Hill & Hollow Sinclair in Boulder at 7:30 AM and finishing at Escalante City Park. Net downhill, dropping from 6,300 ft to 5,774 ft through the canyon country. Ten to thirteen aid stations with water, Gatorade and gels; the half marathon starts at the marathon's halfway point.

The Escalante Canyons Marathon runs through the town of Escalante, Utah, on the edge of Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument. Marathon, half marathon and 5K options wind through the surrounding red-rock canyon country that gives the race its name.
