Runs from Queens Reach along the Lake2Lake Trail beside the Upper Waiau River, climbing to the higher terraces four times before reaching the Lake Te Anau control gates, then following the lakefront past Tui Bay and the bird sanctuary to finish at Steamers Beach. Off-road throughout, with beech forest sections. Three water stations and Tailwind on course.

The Mitre 10 Te Anau 10km follows the Lake2Lake Trail from Queens Reach, beside the Upper Waiau River and through beech forest, before joining the Lake Te Anau lakefront past Tui Bay and the bird sanctuary to finish at Steamers Beach. A 2km kids' fun run is held alongside it.
