Course
A point-to-point ultra of roughly 40 miles following National Cycle Route 8 from the River Wye Activity Centre at Glasbury to Merthyr Tydfil. The going is largely flat on dedicated cycle path, with about 4,200 feet of ascent across the distance. Four aid stations sit at Llanfilo, Lock House, Merthyr Tydfil town centre and the finish.

MTC Afanc is a mystery-route ultramarathon in the Mount to Coast series, starting from Merthyr Tydfil in the Welsh valleys. Named after the afanc, a lake monster of Welsh folklore, the 64km course is kept secret until race day.
