Course
A 41km figure-eight loop in Glenbervie Forest about 10km from Whangārei, starting and finishing at the Matariki Forestry headquarters on Maruata Road. Roughly 75% is maintained forestry road and 25% older unmaintained road, running through pine plantation and native bush over rolling hills. Longer distances repeat the loop; the 165km miler has a 32-hour cutoff.
