Van Stadens Mountain Marathon

Course

A peak-bagging mountain trail race in the Van Stadensberg Natural Heritage Area, starting and finishing at Crossways Farm Village. Three routes climb hard: 10 km with about 500 m of ascent, 21 km with 1 100 m and 42 km with 1 750 m. Fields are capped at 100 runners per distance.

About

The Van Stadens Mountain Marathon runs through the Van Stadens River Gorge near Thornhill in the Eastern Cape, home to the historic Van Stadens Pass and a wild flower reserve of indigenous fynbos. Runners choose between 42.9km, 21.8km, or 10.5km, all on mountainous trail terrain.
