Starts and finishes at Cedars Upper School in Leighton Buzzard, looping around Tiddenfoot Waterside Park before heading north along the Grand Union Canal towpath to Stoke Hammond, climbing to Great Brickhill and returning through Rushmere Country Park and along the Greensand Ridge. Mixed canal towpath, countryside and woodland trail.

The Dirt Half follows a picturesque autumnal trail route through the historic market town of Leighton Buzzard. The course traverses canal towpaths, climbs through beautiful countryside, passes through Rushmere Country Park, and follows the Greensand Ridge back to the start.
