Course

A flat, fast course along the Knysna lagoon. It starts and finishes at Thesen Island, runs out to Leisure Isle and turns back towards Phantom Pass Road. Cut-offs are 5.5 hours for the marathon, 3.5 for the half, 2 for the 10 km and 1.5 for the 5 km.

The Knysna Heads Marathon takes its name from the sandstone cliffs marking the mouth of the Knysna Lagoon on South Africa's Garden Route. The full marathon starts and finishes in Knysna, a town known for its coastal and lagoon scenery.
