All distances start and finish on the grass at Caroline Bay in Timaru, following the coast from there. The event runs across two days, with racing on the Friday evening and the Saturday.

The Coastal Run from 16 to 17 October 2026 is held along the east coast of the South Island and includes a 5km, 10km and Half Marathon distance to choose from. Taking in stunning scenery, the rolling courses are all out-and-back routes starting and finishing at the iconic Caroline Bay.
