Course

From Ala Moana along the Waikiki waterfront, around Diamond Head and out along the Kalanianaʻole Highway to Hawaiʻi Kai, then back over Diamond Head to finish at Kapiʻolani Park. Two climbs over Diamond Head and December humidity; no time limit, so everyone finishes.

The Honolulu Marathon starts before dawn in Waikiki and finishes at Kapiolani Park near Diamond Head. Run since 1973, it has no finish-line time limit, so course support stays out until every runner is in. The route follows the coast out toward Hawaii Kai before turning back to the finish.
